Red Wine Beef Gravy

You can't beat a Red Wine Gravy, and using our MAGGI Rich Gravy is the perfect base to get it right! Cut down kitchen time, and use this simple recipe to serve on a delicious steak.

    Easy Recipe

    INGREDIENTS

    100g MAGGI Rich Gravy Mix

    25g CHEF Red Wine Port Reduction Paste

    150g French shallots, peeled and diced

    200g Carrots, peeled and diced

    150g leeks, diced

    1 sprig thyme

    1 sprig rosemary

    12g garlic cloves, crushed

    800ml Water Steak of your choosing

    METHOD

    1. Combine MAGGI Rich Gravy mix with half the water, stir until free of lumps.

    2.. Add the vegetables, herbs, garlic and the CHEF Red Wine and Port Reduction, mix well and bring to boil.

    3. Turn heat down to simmer for 10-15 minutes.

    4. Strain sauce into a new pan and bring back to boil and serve.

    5. Grill the steak to require level of cooking (rare, medium rare or medium).

    6. Serve gravy with the steak! Enjoy.

     

    CHEF TIPS

    Cut the vegetable fine to extract the most flavour

    Adding a little port at the end brings a little added sweetness.

    So easy to turn a humble gravy into a premium sauce.
